This time of year always makes me nostalgic. Snow falling covers up everything brown & ugly in the landscape, and wipes the slate clean ...

Likewise, when the snow falls, a calm feeling settles over me too. Everything becomes quieter and more muffled - the yapping in my mind dies down and I can think back to times past, the people I knew & lost, and the ones I'm lucky to still have with me today.

Anyway, that's pretty much the feelings that led to this artwork. I photoshopped the snow courtesy of this tutorial here - [link] - very useful!

Lineart drawn in marker, colour & effects added on PS.

That's really good. It is almost an optical illusion in a way, which is really neat. I'm not sure if you intended for that to happen or not, but it is still awesome. The snow came out really well. The pic seems slightly unbalanced with dark only on one side. It leaves a mystery, which is pretty cool. What's he looking at? for instance. Allows the viewer to insert themselves into the picture and all. Great job.

Thanks! Appreciate the comments ^_^
Prints? I'm flattered you like the piece so much but I have no clue how to sell prints on DA... better check it out! Will let you know.

Thanks!
Thanks for the comments... I didn't even think about all of that, but you're right it does come off as a sort of optical illusion / mystery. Interesting what people will read into a piece, eh? :D
Nicely done. Its amazing how well anything can look when you use three colours and leave it like that, no? I need to get back into the using three colours scheme.

Cool yea, give it a shot! :)

I mostly just stuck to 3 colours cos I don't know how to work (well) with more... ^^; but it turned out pretty nice anyways! Thanks for commenting.
